Elizabeth Blount McCormick is a veteran of the retail industry whose corporate traveling experience led her to her current position president of UNIGLOBE Travel Designers.
McCormick’s career in retail included managing garment manufacturing for Gap Women’s Denim and managing production for Bono’s clothing line Edun. As president of UNIGLOBE Travel Designers, she specializes designing, coordinating, and delivering complex travel plans for the diverse needs of individuals, groups, and our corporate travel partners.
In 2016, McCormick was named a visionary finalist by the National Association of Women Business Owners and was selected as one of the 12 “Women “WELDing the Way” by the Women for Economic and Leadership Development. That year, she also was a Columbus Business First Forty Under 40 winner in 2016.
McCormick and UNIGLOBE Travel Designers also won the 2016 Small Business Administration Minority Small Business of the Year award. In 2015, she received the Progressive Entrepreneur Award in the inaugural Smart Women awards sponsored by Smart Business Columbus magazine. She also was named as a winner of the Smart 50 Award by Smart Business Columbus magazine, which included her in a list of the 50 smartest executives in central Ohio.
McCormick is a member of The Wellington School Alumni Board as well as the board of Mansion Day School. She is a member of the Women’s Leadership Council of United Way of Central Ohio, the Columbus Chamber Small Business Council, Women’s President’s Organization, and National Association of Women’s Business Owners-Columbus, where she also serves on the board. In addition, she is a member of Women for Economic and Leadership Development and the United Negro College Fund Leadership Council.
McCormick received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Spelman College, in Atlanta, Ga.
