Jeffrey L. Johnson

Jeffrey L. Johnson serves as the Project Manager of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services’ Office of Workforce Development, leading the agency’s diversity, equity and inclusion outreach efforts. Johnson was appointed to the Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission in 2018.

Jeffrey L. Johnson served as the chief of the Ohio Development Services Agency Minority Business Development Division for over six years. In his previous role, Johnson worked closely with Ohio Minority Business Advisory Council and seven Minority Business Assistance Centers around the state to support the agency’s efforts to help develop and grow small, minority and disadvantaged businesses to contribute to job creation and economic growth in Ohio.

Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in business banking and 15 years of working with government municipalities and community organizations. He is an expert on bonds, loans, and tax credits and was previously vice president of government and non-profit lending for JP Morgan Chase. During his time, he underwrote and approved the largest municipal bond transaction in the history of the Business Banking unit.

Johnson is an active member in his community and has served on the board of the New Albany Joint Park District, the New Albany Plain Local School District, and the Columbus Urban League.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and a master’s degree in business administration from the DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
