Office of Information Technology

Delivers statewide information technology and telecommunication infrastructure, services and systems to state government agencies, boards and commissions.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) also provides the solutions, tools and processes for data analytics, digital identity, user experience, statewide strategic IT investments, privacy and security management, enterprise project management, and vendor management.

The following OIT sections carry out these responsibilities according to the DAS mission, vision, goals and principles to provide service, support and solutions that improve state government: Office of the State Chief information Officer, InnovateOhio Platform, Investment and Governance Division, Infrastructure Services Division, Enterprise Shared Solutions, and Office of Information Security and Privacy.

Office of the State Chief Information Officer

The State CIO’s Office provides management and leadership for the DAS Office of Information Technology (OIT) and sets the strategic direction for statewide IT activities. It also ensures the efficient use of information technology across the state. In support of these efforts, the office leads the IT Innovation effort, enables the implementation of enterprise shared services, supports and facilitates a statewide IT collaboration and engagement model, and ensures that the infrastructure is place to support agency, board, and commission requirements.

Investment and Governance Division

The Investment and Governance Division (IGD) supports the objectives of  streamlining and modernizing State IT. The division partners with other DAS divisions, as well as state agencies, to advance statewide technology efforts that allow for the delivery of vital services to Ohioans. 

IGD consists of the following program areas:

These three groups deliver the governance and tools needed to assist customer agencies with meeting the goals of the statewide IT Innovation effort. This includes providing the flexibility to meet the ever-changing business needs of our customers; simplifying through standardization and enterprise solutions; being responsive by supporting the faster deployment of solutions through an agile approach and a cloud-smart mindset; and containing costs to create efficiencies and allow investments to be redirected to value-added services and programs.

Office of Information Security and Privacy

The Office of Information Security and Privacy supports the productivity, innovation, and organizational objectives of the state in providing secure services to the people of Ohio. We provide the technology, policies, standards, architecture, information, and solutions to enhance the privacy and security of Ohio's data and systems.

Infrastructure Services Division

The Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) operates the IT infrastructure for the state, which includes hardware, software and telecommunications. The division also develops and manages a variety of enterprise IT services. ISD consists of the following program areas:

Enterprise Shared Solutions

Enterprise Shared Solutions (ESS) coordinates strategies, develops, and manages enterprise application systems and solutions. ESS includes the following program areas:
