Affirmative Action/Equal Employement Opportunity
It is the mission of the Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity Unit to ensure equal opportunity to and fair treatment in State employment. The unit strives to achieve its mission by managing the State’s internal discrimination complaint process and providing guidance to State agencies in the development, administration, and enforcement of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity programs.
The unit has the following responsibilities:
The Disability Inclusion program assists State agencies to:
- Identify and eliminate barriers to access, inclusion, and employment
- Increase Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) knowledge
- Enhance disability awareness
- Promote and share hiring best practices and inclusion strategies
State employees have an opportunity to participate in training and related activities to build and sustain a culture of inclusion.
