WHAT WE DO

The Labor Market and Recruitment (LMR) Office conducts labor market analysis, and provides recruitment and consultation services to state agencies, employees and job applicants in order to attract and retain a qualified state of Ohio workforce.

Labor Market Analysis

  • Collect and evaluate data on employment trends and wages
  • Diagnose and evaluate recruitment/retention issues of specific state of Ohio job classifications.
  • Provide state of Ohio salary and staffing data in response to surveys from national compensation data service organizations and other state governments

 Recruitment Activities

  • Market & promote career opportunities in Ohio state government through print media, internet job postings, and participation in recruitment related events
  • Maintain the state’s On-line Employment Application Process (OLEAP) website, which lists all current state job openings and civil service test announcements
  • Facilitate bi-monthly workshops for job seekers on the state of Ohio’s employment and application process

Consultation

  • Assist agencies with a variety of recruitment needs including applicant sourcing/screening and posting “hard-to-fill” positions to national internet job board
  • Collaborate with agencies to diagnose and evaluate recruitment/ retention issues and develop strategies to overcome them
  • Provide training and consultation on OLEAP functions for agency HR recruitment staff
