Great News for Ohio Med, Aetna and UnitedHealthcare Enrollees!
Rate Holiday:

Conserving our health care resources is paying off for employees enrolled in the three self-insured plans (Ohio Med, Aetna and UnitedHealthcare). Utilization of generic drugs, using network
providers and urgent care other than the emergency room and other conservation efforts have saved health care dollars for the state and its employees. As a result, there will be a one-month rate holiday this fall in which enrollees that select the above plans will not have health care payroll deductions.

Premiums Will Decrease:
Despite rising health care costs, employees enrolled in the Aetna or Ohio Med health plans will see a slight decrease of 20 cents per month in their health care payroll deductions. In addition, employee health care payroll deductions will decrease for those enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare plan by $8.88 (single) and $30.47 (family). The deductions for the three fully insured plans will increase by typical amounts.

Focus on Your Wellness...Assess Your Health!

Part of keeping health care costs down includes a focus on wellness and understanding your preventive services covered under your health plan (refer to page 14 to learn more about what preventive services are currently covered). The first step toward maintaining your health, or regaining it, is to assess your present health.

There are tools available to you that can have a positive affect on your ability to stay well. If you are enrolled in Aetna, Ohio Med or UnitedHealthcare there are free tools that will get you started to guide you down the right path. The comprehensive tools will help you to assess your health and identify ways to maintain and/or improve it.

Health Risk Assessments offered by each of these plans ask questions about your habits — good and bad — that affect your health. Answering the questions honestly will reveal your degree of health and how to get where you should be.

You are encouraged to take the Health Risk Assessment offered by Aetna, Ohio Med or UnitedHealthcare. You have to be enrolled in the respective plan to take their assessment. The results are confidential and the state never sees the results. In no event will the state receive any health information that identifies you. Follow the instructions below for your health plan.
