The Human Resources Academy (HRA) advocates for human resource development and promotes life-long learning within Ohio government. The HRA provides targeted learning opportunities to address the needs of supervisors, managers, and human resource professionals within government.

The Purpose of the Human Resources Academy is to:

  • Offer a high-quality, broad-based human resources training curriculum
  • Encourage comprehensive study of the concepts and processes for human resources management
  • Increase professionalism across all agencies with regards to human resources management
  • Disseminate relevant information regarding human resources best practices
  • Provide continuous learning opportunities for those working in and/or interested in developing their human resources knowledge and skills
  • Encourage preparation for obtaining professional HR certifications such as the SHRM Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); and/or the IPMA-HR Certified HR Professional (IPMA-CP); and Certified HR Specialist (IPMA-CS) credentials.
