No federal or state taxes on up to $5,000 through payroll deduction ($2,500 each for married employees who file taxes separately)
Once a year payment *; nontaxable as long as spouse worked, was a full-time student, disabled or seeking work
Mechanics
You specify payroll deduction amount when you enroll. You may request a repayment from the account as often as every week
You submit the completed application form and receive payment within 60 days
Qualifying Dependents
Children under age 13 who live in the employee's home and other dependents who live with you who are unable to care for themselves
Children who were under age 13 and who lived in your home
Qualified Expenses
Any expenses necessary for the dependent so that you can work. The DCSA benefit cannot be for child support or care provided by your dependent child under the age of 19. Overnight or residential care and medical expenses are not eligible.
