We have received questions from employees asking if their health care spending account (HCSA) benefit automatically continues next year. Just like the dependent care spending account, it is necessary to re-enroll every year in the HCSA plan. New enrollees in the HCSA or those who have been in the program in 2005 must enroll or re-enroll on/before Friday, November 18th. Their new effective date will be January 1, 2006. It would be appreciated if you would post this information on your intranet or send the information to your employees to help assure that those who have the benefit now and want to maintain it, enroll by the deadline. Interested employees should go to the Benefits’ Website www.das.ohio.gov/employeebenefits and click on the special enrollment button to enroll or get more information.
