Course Objectives

  • Identify and analyze the interpersonal and situational factors that create obstacles to achieving a high level of performance and that cause unproductive conflicts
  • Assess your effectiveness in resolving conflicts and performance problems and in creating a productive climate
  • Identify specific steps you can take to improve performance by using conflict management styles and techniques more effectively

 

Course Description and Topics

Conflict is a natural disagreement between parties and does not necessarily have to be looked upon as negative.  Left unresolved, conflict can take a fiscal and managerial toll on the workplace, possibly resulting in absenteeism, lack of productivity and employee turnover.  Participants will learn skills to improve work unit performance by increasing the effectiveness of managing conflict.
