Course Description and Topics

Developing People focuses on a model for discussing performance and development opportunities that produces "win-win" agreements between manager and employee. It features a public sector case study on interactive video. Participants follow a state government manager as she tries to develop her employees, assessing her and the employee's impact on the employee's development.

Survey Component:

Management Practices Survey
The Management Practices Survey (MPS) is designed to help individuals identify and analyze the factors that influence performance, motivation, and career satisfaction of the direct reports, both in terms of management practices and organizational structures, policies and procedures. Analyses of the survey results help identify steps to increase effectiveness and improve performance of the work unit which is managed.

 

 

Eligibility
Exempt from bargaining unit status and supervisory experience.
 
Registration
Customized sessions are available to meet agency/team specific needs by contacting the program manager.

There is no fee for these courses.
