State advisory work group
highly satisfied with the process
--
IGD Statewide IT Policy, January 2005
Participants surveyed said
they were highly satisfied with the process of the Enterprise Desktop Hardware
Standardization Initiative Advisory Work Group. The advisory work group, comprised
of the staff from 24 agencies, boards and commissions, met from April through
October to develop state desktop and laptop hardware standards and a standards
revision process.
Participants were asked for
feedback about their experience in the areas of efficiency, quality and openness
of the work group process.
On a scale of one
(least satisfied) to four (most satisfied), participants rated their
experience at an overall score of 3.41 with no areas receiving a single
response below 3.0. Receiving one of the highest ratings of 3.8 was the
question about the responsiveness demonstrated by staff in researching
and facilitating resolution of issues and ideas.
One participant said,
"I thought this workshop was worthwhile, focused, well-organized and very
professional. I appreciated the opportunity to provide a voice."
More information about
the survey result can be found at the

About the Enterprise
Desktop Hardware Initiative
The mission and objectives of this initiative are to establish enterprise desktop

power, establish a stable and consistent client foundation across the enterprise
and position the state and its respective agencies for lower total cost of ownership
and total cost of opportunity. It is one of the four foundational enterprise
initiatives of the Ohio Office of Information Technology.
The Statewide IT Policy program area examines today's compelling IT issues and
develops strategic state policies, standards and research concerning the management
of the state's considerable annual IT investments.
