how to take charge, handle conflict

To help meet the challenges of implementing
the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS), the HRD Office of Training and Development
is offering several free sessions of its Taking Charge of Change and Handling Conflict courses.
The courses, which are part of the People Matter Series, are held on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Taking Charge of Change teaches participants strategies and techniques to deal with change. The strategies and techniques
enables participants to make choices that better align their individual talents and skills with the desired future
state of their organization. The course is offered July 20 and Aug. 3 and 10.
Handling Conflict assists participants with turning frustration and tension into positive personal and work-unit results.
Participants learn to approach conflict situations constructively, resolve them effectively and develop collaborative
relationships. The course is offered July 27 and Aug. 17 and 24.
All of the courses, except the July 20 session, will be held at the Ohio Center for Occupational Safety and
Health of the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, 13430 Yarmouth Drive, Pickerington. The July 20 session will be
held at the Columbus Developmental Center, 1601 W. Broad St., Columbus.
