Special enrollment opportunity
begins Oct. 31

Eligible state employees
have the opportunity to sign up for three optional benefits – the Health Care
Spending Account, Dependent Care Spending Account and long term care insurance – from Oct.
31 through Nov. 18.
The Health Care Spending Account
program allows employees to set aside up to $1,000 in pre-tax money during calendar
year 2006 for eligible medical, dental and dependent care expenses. For more information
or to enroll, log onto the Benefits Administration Services
Web site at www.das.ohio.gov/employeebenefits and click on “Health Care Spending Account”
in the navigation column or call the program administrator, FlexSave, at 1-866-203-2513.
The Dependent Care Spending Account program
allows eligible employees to set aside pre-tax money for dependent care. For more information
or for an enrollment form, log onto the Benefits Administration Services Web site at www.das.ohio.gov/employeebenefits
and click on “Dependent Assistance” in the navigation column or call the Benefits Administration Services customer service line at 1-800-409-1205 or in Columbus at (614) 466-8857.
Eligible employees also might want to consider enrolling in long term care insurance during this enrollment period,
