Premium reductions to save agencies half million dollars

State agencies enrolled in the state's vehicle liability program will save a total of $566,760 this fiscal year.

The savings is the result of a premium discount of 22 percent off the recommended base rate. The discount has been made possible by a number of best claims management practices implemented by the GSD Office of Risk Management since fiscal year 2002.

The best practices have saved agencies more than $7.87 million during the first four years.

The vehicle liability premium is $140 per vehicle, as recently approved by the Office of Budget and Management.
