2007 state auction schedule announced
-- GSD State and Federal Surplus, January 2007

The 2007 state surplus auction schedule is as follows:

Warehouse auctions – Jan. 20, March 17, May 12, June 23, Aug. 4, Sept. 15, and Nov. 24.

Vehicle auctions – Feb. 3, April 14, June 9, Aug. 18, Oct. 13, and Dec. 8.

Vehicle auctions begin at 10 a.m.; doors open at 8 a.m. Warehouse auctions begin at 9 a.m.; doors open at 8 a.m.

State and Federal Surplus hosts the auctions, which are held at 4200 Surface Road, Columbus. The state has raised more than $2.19 million during fiscal year 2007 from state surplus auctions.

Payment can be made by cash or credit card. There is no fee charged for credit card transactions.

Public auctions are the last step in the state’s surplus program. State agencies declare property as surplus because it is damaged or at the end of its life cycle for government use. The property is then made available to other state agencies, state colleges and universities, tax-supported agencies, municipal corporations and other political subdivisions of the state, including public schools. Remaining property is sold at the public auctions.
