ASD stomps to a wellness challenge win

The DAS Administrative Support Division stomped their way to victory this May taking home first place in the Spring Stomp Walking Challenge.
The wellness challenge raised $785 for Operation Feed thanks to entry fees donated by DAS and OIT employees participating in the competition.
DAS Assistant Director Rick Frank accepted the Wellness Spoon Trophy, a rotating trophy created for DAS and OIT wellness competitions, from DAS Director Carol Nolan Drake during an award ceremony June 9.
Out of the 150 employees participating in the 28-day competition, 52 achieved the goal of walking an average of at least 10,000 steps per day, which is approximately five miles.
The ASD team won the competition for collectively achieving the highest percentage of the goal 101.4 percent, which enabled ASD to capture the Wellness Spoon Trophy from the DAS Office of Collective Bargaining.
Members of the ASD team were Gary Allbright, Nnamdi Anene, Jane Baughn, Richard Bitonte, Mark Cherry, Susan Downs, Drake, Anni Efthimiou, Frank, Jeff Frink, Bill Hawkins, George Holliman, Robin Lynch, Regina Mayer, Jeff McGowan, Barcy McNeal, David Morris, Jackie Murray, Molly OReilly, Sonni Peterson, Gary Shepherd, Erin Shmidt, Julie Trackler, Anne VanScoy, John Verdes and Vickie Yarborough.
Finishing a close second was the OCB team who collectively achieved 98.9 percent of the goal. Coming in third and fourth were the teams from DAS General Services Division and OIT Service Delivery Division who collectively achieved 83.2 percent and 81.5 percent of the goal, respectively.
The overall winner of the wellness challenge was Anene of ASD who achieved an impressive 350.4 percent of the goal. He was awarded the Golden Shoes, a trophy created for DAS and OIT walking competitions.
Other participants recording steps that were more than double the goal were Frink of ASD, second place, 272.5 percent; Tenette Blaising of GSD, third place, 242.30 percent; Vicki Curren of OIT SDD, fourth place, 216.3 percent; Connie Wood of OCB, fifth place, 202.30 percent; and Carolyn Chavanne of the OIT Investment and Governance Division, sixth place, 201.40 percent.
Other participants achieving 100 percent or more of their goal (with the percentage verses goal met by the other top 10 finishers in parenthesis) were as follows:

DAS Human Resources Division Anne Chernauskas, Keat Hartman, Nancy Hetterscheidt, Joe Hietter (10th, 158.5 percent), Clare Long, Darryl McFarlane, Sue Myers, Gretchen White and Greg Wilson (ninth place, 175.8 percent).
DAS Office of Collective Bargaining Matt Banal, Dan Batts, Elizabeth Brown, Alicyn Carrel, Ken Couch, Mike Duco and Steve Little.
OIT Service Delivery Division Richard Holycross, Joe Kruithoff (eighth place, 194.9 percent), Tom Landoll, Dennis McCauley and Greg Pennington.
OIT Investment and Governance Division Liz Akers, Daren Arnold, Curtis Brooks, Jean Carter, Barbara Edwards, Michael Gluck, Ginny Lagather, Ed Razler, Roni Rowe and Martha Vohlers.
The challenge was sponsored by the DAS and OIT Wellness Team. Members of the team are Allbright of ASD; James Austin of the Equal Opportunity Division; Chernauskas of HRD; Jencie McCloud of OIT IGD; Kathy Teeters and Angie Weis, both of OIT SDD; Wood of OCB; and Wyne of GSD.
