OCB wins Biggest Loser Challenge, retains Wellness Spoon Trophy

The Office of Collective Bargaining won their third consecutive
agency wellness competition. They retained the Wellness Spoon
Trophy by winning the DAS and OIT Biggest Loser Challenge, which
was held January through March.
The 14-member team lost the greatest percentage of weight – 5.86 percent –
among the six participating DAS and OIT divisions.
OCB Deputy Steven Loeffler was awarded the DAS Wellness Spoon Trophy,
a rotating trophy created for DAS and OIT wellness competitions, by Director
Carol Nolan Drake during an award ceremony April 7.
The members of the winning OCB team were Elizabeth Brown,
Barb Light, Loeffler, Alicyn Carrel, Ken Couch, Mike Duco,
Marissa Hartley, Jessie Keyes, John Kinkela, Steve Little,
Kristen Rankin, Andrew Shuman, Shelly Ward and Connie Wood.
The top overall winner was Brown who was awarded the Silver Scales
Award for achieving the highest percentage of weight-loss overall –
11 percent. Second- and third-place overall winners were Light of OCB,
10.7 percent, and Colleen Priest of the OIT Service Delivery Division, 10 percent.
Also recognized were 31 individuals achieving a 4 percent or more
percentage of weight loss. They received cash prizes of $15 funded
through a participation fee. The top two individual winners from
each division received a bonus cash prize of $15 and $10, respectively.
The division winners ranking in first and second place received $30 and
$25 were as follows: Administrative Support Division – Jeff Frink,
Al Powell; General Services Division – Krista Holcomb, Jamie Hinkle;
Human Resources Division – Kevin Kemp; OCB – Brown, Light;
OIT Investment and Governance Division – Chris Wilkin,
Mark Smith; and SDD – Priest, Sharon Roche.
The other individuals achieving a 4 percent or more percentage of weight loss
and receiving $15 were as follows: ASD – Jennifer Sorvillo; GSD – Nancy Baumer,
Monica DeBrock, Phillip Fitch, Erin Fracasso, Joan Johnson, Tom Poulton,
Keith William, Dawn Wyne, Fred Zabonik; OCB – Carrel, Duco, Little, Loeffler,
Keyes, Kinkela, Rankin, Wood; and IGD – Doug Alt.
The 128 total participants collectively lost 642.4 pounds or an average of 2.34
percent during the competition, which was sponsored by the DAS/OIT Wellness Team.
Members of the team are Gary Allbright of ASD, James Austin of the Equal Opportunity
Division, Anne Chernauskas of HRD, Jencie McCloud of IGD, Kathy Teeters of SDD,
Angie Weis of SDD, Wood of OCB, and Wyne of GSD.
