Employees Make A Difference

--DAS Office of Employee Services, October 2006

Once again, DAS and OIT gathered the most-needed items requested by Choices, a battered women's shelter serving central Ohio, to make a contribution as part of the national Make A Difference Day campaign.

Our agencies donated the following: Hundreds of diapers, 18 new bed pillows, 16 new umbrellas and many packages of baby wipes and toiletries as well as cash.

Thank you to the DAS Human Resources Division employees on the 28th floor of the Rhodes Tower who contributed $100 from a fundraiser to purchase a portion of the supplies. Janice Kurtz coordinated this donation.

In addition, thanks goes to the following employees for their donations and assistance: Linda Arbuiso, Jane Baughn, Cheryl Beaty, Rhonda Cunningham, Director Carol Nolan Drake, Jane Kuzma, Barcy McNeal, Allison Shaeffer and Victoria Yarborough, all of the DAS Administrative Support Division; Caitlin Benner, Angie Carder, Christina Carleski, Sally Llaneza, Jessie Scott, Anne Van Scoy and Shelby Williams, all of the DAS General Services Division; Shirley Cales and Shelly Richardson, HRD; and Katrina Flory and Kathy Teeters, both of OIT.

Jane Baughn, coordinator of the DAS and OIT Make A Difference Day campaign, prepares to take donated items to Choices, a battered women’s shelter.
