Youths spend day at DAS

Creating a presentation, entering data, ordering supplies and consolidating reports were all part of a day’s work for young visitors to DAS/OIT recently.

About 50 youths spent a full or partial day shadowing their relatives at work when DAS/OIT held Bring Your Child to Work Day on Aug. 4. The children, who ranged from 9 to 15 years old, tackled a variety of tasks.

Those impressed with our workplace included 9-year-old Eddie Sheline.

“He said this was a really neat place and maybe he could work here one day,” said his mother, Tina Sheline, executive assistant for the GSD Office of Risk Management.
