DAS employees graduate from
Project Management course

--HRD Office of Training and Development, August 2006

Congratulations to two DAS employees who recently graduated from the Project Management Level I course.

Jackie Howell, human resources analyst for the Human Resources Division Office of Information Resources, and Marsha Stoops, management analyst supervisor for the HRD Office of Training and Development, were honored at a ceremony held in April.

Howell has worked at DAS for 16 years; Stoops has worked at DAS for 12 years. Stoops also worked at the Ohio Department of Youth Services for four years and Van Wert Schools for 13 years.

Project Management course participants gain project management skills through team projects and change management and communication exercises. Participants also prepare to take the Project Management Institute certification examination during the 14-week course.

This course is part of the ongoing efforts of DAS to provide quality continuing education for state employees. Since the spring of 2005, more than 52 employees have graduated from this program.

Funding sources for eligible employees include the Exempt Professional Development Program for exempt employees and the Union Education Trust for Ohio Civil Service Employees Association/AFSCME Local 11 bargaining unit members.
