Clingman named 2005 Buyer of the Year

Congratulations to Carol Clingman from the GSD Office of Procurement Services who was named the 2005 Buyer of the Year by the Central Ohio Organization of Public Purchasers (CO-OPP) at an awards ceremony held May 17.

Clingman, procurement contract analyst, has more than 10 years experience in public purchasing and formerly worked in the private sector. She also serves as the treasurer of CO-OPP, which is a chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP).

Honorees are selected by CO-OPP based on several factors including outstanding performance, achievement and professionalism as well as their contributions to their employer, CO-OPP and NIGP.

Clingman also represented her local chapter as a national nominee in the 2005 Buyer of the Year competition at the NIGP Forum and Product Exhibitions held in early August.

CO-OPP is a not-for-profit organization comprising of purchasing professionals from public entities such as townships, cities, counties, state, federal, schools and higher education involved in procurement and materials management.
