The open enrollment timeline distributed at the open enrollment conference held on April 12, 2005, indicated that data entry of changes resulting from the mailing of employee confirmation letters could commence effective July 5, 2005.

It would be advantageous, however, to enter anyhealth plan changesby the end of the day on June 30. Entering health plan changes by June 30 will initiate the change prior to the second deduction for August being deducted from employee paychecks. Other changes, such as incorrect birth dates and address changes may be made at any time.

Please refer to Payroll Letter 881 for instructions on posting makeups and refunds, keeping in mind that “plus adjustments” must be made for any makeups processed for July coverage (June deductions). This adjustment is needed to cover the difference between the employee shares of deductions, which increased from 10% to 15%. The adjustment amounts that must be posted for each plan, both single and family coverage, appear on page three of Payroll Letter 881. The July rates, which were only effective for one month, are no longer in the payroll system and cannot be used.

Makeup’s and refunds for August forward should be posted in the usual manner.
