Scope:
Renovate and expand 41-year-old facility from approx. 100,000
square feet on two floors to approx. 200,000 square feet on three
floors. Transform from a recreational facility to a contemporary
academic center.

Project History:
The facility was orginally constructed to house basketball and
physical education projects and was built like a bomb shelter.
With the opening of the new Ping Recreation Center on the Ohio
University campus, this facility is now solely used as an academic
center. It houses the College of Health and Human Services, with
approximately 50 classroom and lab areas to provide room for nearly
1,600 students, approx. 150 offices, six conference rooms, a public
dining area, exercise facilities and more.
The
College of Health and Human Services includes six schools: Health
Sciences; Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences; Human and Consumer
Sciences; Nursing; Physical Therapy; and Recreation and Sport
Sciences.
