Annual
Awards
The annual awards program recognizes service and achievements
of Ohio residents and organizations in areas consistent with the
teachings and example of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Kings
commitment to seeking racial, social and economic justice through
non-violent struggle benefited not only the victims of oppression,
but society as a whole. Annual awards are intended to lift up both
concrete achievements and the continuing spirit of Dr. King's dreams
for this nation. The awards will be presented during the annual statewide observance of Dr. King's birthday on Jan. 17, 2008 at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus.
The nomination process if now complete. Award winners have been selected and will be announced at the celebration on Jan. 17.
