Small Ohio businesses now can report and pay state taxes on the Web.
Ohio Business Gateway, a multi-agency pilot program, was unveiled by Governor Bob Taft on April 2.
The program, accessible through a link on the state Web portal, provides a single location for businesses to report and pay sales, withholding and unemployment compensation taxes as well as workers compensation premiums. Filing also is faster because the duplication common in standard paper reporting is eliminated. Names, tax rates and other information are retained from one report to the next in the online version.
The Ohio Business Gateway demonstrates an innovative approach to delivering online services to Ohios businesses, said Rick Shipley, administrator of DAS eGovernment Development and Deployment.
Ohio Business Gateway was developed under legislation passed by the Ohio General Assembly and an order issued by Taft. It was designed by the Ohio Department of Taxation, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation and the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
The site is located at www.businessgateway.ohio.gov.
