Savings recognized through
Innovation
Ohio during the biennium totaled nearly $67 million. Innovation
Ohio is the state's employee suggestion program managed by the Human Resources
Division.
A total of 275 awards were given
at four ceremonies held during the biennium.
During these ceremonies, individuals and
teams from state agencies were honored for
their forward-thinking ideas that have
improved state government operations and
saved more than $66,714,037 during their
first year of implementation.
Since the inception of the Innovation Ohio program in 1994, the ideas of honorees
have saved a total of $158.1 during their first year of implementation. Although
the program's award ceremonies and financial incentives were discontinued
during fiscal year 2003, many state employees continue to be recognized by
their agencies for their cost-savings efforts.
