Forms Management goes electronic
--
GSD Office of State Printing and Standards, July 2003
State
Forms Management is no longer stocking paper forms. The
forms that had been physically stocked are now available via the
Internet or through an electronic-order process.
Forms Management closed its forms distribution center in June 2002
after a two-year project to convert its paper-based inventory and
ordering system to an Internet-based system. The project involved
working with several state agencies to assist them in the transition
from paper-based forms to Web-based forms.
As a result, all 98 forms previously stocked are now available on
the Internet or through a print-on-demand electronic order form.
This new order process, available through this central forms repository,
automatically calculates the cost of the order, provides a search
function to look up all transactions and sends e-mails to the customer
indicating the order is being processed.
During fiscal year 2003, Forms Management trained 54 customers how
to use the new central forms repository.
