Collectible coins are among the hundreds of items to be auctioned by State and Federal Surplus on Saturday, June 26 at 4200 Surface Road, Columbus.
The miscellaneous property auction will feature several half dollars, including one minted in 1917. Several silver dollars also are for sale.
Other items up for bid include lawn and garden equipment; computer and other electronic equipment; office equipment, including furniture; commercial kitchen equipment; printing equipment; tools; and clothing. To view items, click here.
The auction begins at 10 a.m.; gates open at 8 a.m.
Surplus property auctions provide the general public an opportunity to purchase quality goods at reduced prices and enable the state to recoup a portion of its initial investment.
Public auctions are the last step in the state's surplus program. State agencies declare property as surplus because it is damaged or at the end of its life cycle for government use. The property is then made available to other state agencies, state colleges and universities, tax-supported agencies, municipal corporations and other political subdivisions of the state, including public schools. Remaining property is sold at the public auctions.
