DAS welcomes youths
-- DAS Office of Employee Services, August 2004
Making spreadsheets and imaging computers were all part of a day’s work for young visitors to DAS recently.
About 80 youths spent
a full or partial day working alongside their parent or another DAS employee
in their life when DAS held Bring Your Child to Work Day on Aug. 5. The
children, who ranged from 9 to 15 years old, tackled a variety of tasks.

Miya Chisolm, daughter of administrative assistant Charlet Chisolm, interviews her mother’s supervisor, Jean Carter, during Bring Your Child to Work Day. In addition to asking Carter, administrator of OIT’s Enterprise Planning and Project Management, about her career, Miya also helped file, clean and make spreadsheets. The 12-year-old, who is home-schooled, plans to write a report about her day’s experiences.
