Employees take day off to volunteer

-- DAS Office of Employee Services, September 2003

Five DAS employees took a day of vacation or personal leave to take inventory, conduct phone surveys, stuff envelopes and organize a resource center.

The employees -- Lena Carter, Renee Keys, Charlotte Long, Andy Shuman and Sally Wood -- volunteered at the Central Ohio Diabetes Association. They were among 5,507 volunteers, including 787 state employees, who contributed a total of more than 38,000 hours assisting nonprofit organizations at 190 central Ohio sites during the Combined Charitable Campaign Community Care Day held Sept. 10.
