DAS is sponsoring several blood drives during 2004 at the Rhodes Tower Blood Donor Center, General Services Division headquarters and the State of Ohio Computer Center (SOCC).

The 2004 schedule is as follows:

Appointments for the blood drives at General Services Division headquarters may be made at the security/reception desk or by calling Steve Morbitzer of the Office of State Purchasing at 466-0530. Friends and relatives of DAS employees also may participate.

To schedule appointments for the SOCC blood drives, please contact the American Red Cross Central Ohio Region, 1-800-GIVE LIFE.

Blood drives typically are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Employees interested and eligible to donate are asked to speak with their supervisor to identify the blocks of time they are available to donate. After making the appointment, employees are asked to please inform their supervisor of the appointment time.

Individuals in good health are eligible to donate whole blood up to six times a year at intervals of 56 days. For information about donor eligibility, please visit the American Red Cross Central Ohio Region's Web site or call them at (614) 251-1451 or 1-800-GIVE LIFE.
