Rhodes Tower Blood Donor Center opens
--DAS Office
of the Director, July 2003
The State of Ohio now
has a permanent blood donor site thanks in part to the work of DAS.
Governor Bob Taft officially opened the State of Ohio's Rhodes Tower Blood
Donor Center on Oct. 3, 2001. The center is located at 30 E. Broad St., Columbus,
making it more convenient for many state employees working in central Ohio
to give blood.
The center consists of four donor beds and is the result of work done by a
statewide blood drive committee initiated by Taft. DAS, the Ohio
Department of Health and the American
Red Cross participated in the planning of the center. The
Ohio Building Authority provided the space.
A total of 1,246 productive units of blood were collected in the center during
the biennium.

This portion of the DAS eNewsCenter is for DAS employees.
