Government
Technology Magazine has ranked Greg
Jackson, DAS assistant director and Ohio Chief Infor-
mation Officer, among the nation's leading public-
sector IT professionals.
The publication's March
issue names Jackson as a
member of "Government Technology's Top 25: Dream-
ers, Doers & Drivers for 2002." The list honors "pioneers"
for advancing technology in state and local government.
The magazine calls Jackson
"a force in Ohio's push to-
ward business-to-business Web transactions" and cites
Ohio Business Gateway, the state's online tax reporting system for businesses
launched last year, as one example.
The article points out
that Ohio is not alone in fighting
budget shortfalls but also notes that Jackson sees this challenge as an opportunity
for state agencies to combine talents and resources to continue online services
with less funding.
