This group oversees the Ohio Hiring Management System (OHMS) and administers civil service and proficiency examinations for the State of Ohio.
The group provides technical support, training, job aids, and specialized consultation to department Human Resources (HR) professionals on the effective use of OHMS for recruitment, selection, and applicant tracking. The group manages and communicates implementation of system enhancements, conducts user group meetings, manages system access for authorized department users, and maintains the OHMS website (http://careers.ohio.gov).
In addition, the Hiring Management Group is responsible for administering civil service and proficiency examinations. This includes evaluating applicant qualifications, scheduling, proctoring and scoring exams, disseminating results, and managing documents and records related to testing programs.
The group also provides customer service support to job seekers regarding OHMS, and the state's recruitment, hiring and testing processes.
