The Preferred Drug List is a condensed version of the Catamaran Formulary. Please be aware that this is not an all-inclusive list. Changes may occur throughout the year and plan exclusions may override this list. Benefit designs may vary with respect to drug coverage, quantity limits, step therapy, day supply and prior authorization. The most effective way to determine whether your prescription is on the preferred list is to go to mycatamaranrx.com and use the Price and Save feature located at the top of the Catamaran website once you have logged-in. Coverage
Employees receive a pharmacy identification card, which must be presented at the pharmacy when filling prescriptions. You must use your pharmacy identification card to receive prescriptions - you will not be able to purchase medications with your health plan ID card.
Comparing The Costs of Medications
Want to save some money? Catamaran offers a variety of Web-based features intended to put you in touch with valuable health and prescription drug benefit information. Through www.mycatamaranrx.com, you can review your plan’s benefits, locate a participating pharmacy, view and print your prescription history, and more.
In addition, Catamaran's online drug pricing tool, Price & Save, can save you money by comparing the price of your prescriptions at local retail pharmacies and through mail service. This allows you to shop for the most competitively priced pharmacy to obtain your prescription and helps save you money. Unlike other drug pricing tools, Price & Save identifies the lowest priced pharmacies without bias, enabling you to become a fully informed consumer.
Login Instructions
- Follow the instructioins to register for the first time.
- Type your Member ID (from your Catalyst Rx/Catamaran ID card)
- Type your password
To access the online drug pricing tool, click on “Price & Save,” located on the top of the screen and enter your prescription information.
Filling a Prescription
Employees have two options for filling their prescriptions:
- Employees can take their prescription to a pharmacy within the Catamaran network, or
- Employees can receive prescriptions by mail through Catamaran Home Delivery.
Catamaran Home Delivery
Mail order services are provided through Catamaran Home Delivery. Through this program, you can obtain a 90-day supply of covered maintenance medications used to treat chronic or long term health conditions. Any questions about prescription drug benefits, including mail order prescriptions, should be directed to Catamaran at 1.866.854.8850 or visit the website at www.mycatamaranrx.com.
