Building Security Upgrades

As part of continuing efforts to strengthen security, procedures are being upgraded to help ensure the safety and security of those who work in, conduct business and visit buildings managed by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.

Backpack prohibition
When visitors carrying backpacks enter the buildings and register at a security desk for a visitor badge, they are being asked by the security officer to return their backpack to their vehicle or visit another day.

Visitors cannot store their backpacks with security or in another part of the building. Security officers will continue to inspect other visitor bags, such as purses and cases.

Tenants with proper identification can continue to bring backpacks into the buildings. Any backpack or other type of bag or case brought in by tenants continues to be subject to random searches.

Riffe Center and Rhodes Tower Turnstiles

As part of the overall upgrade to security procedures, tenants and visitors to the Riffe Center and Rhodes Tower need to pass through security turnstiles to access the main elevators. See below to view videos of how credentialed tenants and visitors enter and exit the turnstiles.
