MLK Annual Awards

The annual awards program recognizes service and achievements of Ohio residents and organizations in areas consistent with the teachings and example of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King’s commitment to seeking racial, social and economic justice through non-violent struggle benefited not only the victims of oppression, but society as a whole. Annual awards are intended to lift up both concrete achievements and the continuing spirit of Dr. King's dreams for this nation.

We are excited to recognize outstanding Ohio citizens and organizations for their commitment to service and significant achievements, and hope you will join us for the celebration. The awards were presented during the annual statewide observance of Dr. King's birthday on Jan. 12, 2012 at the Riffe Center's Capitol Theatre in downtown Columbus.

Each year the Commission seeks to recognize organizations and individual who have committed to help others through exemplary service. We strive to continue this tradition of recognizing Ohio’s most passionate citizens.
