Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance Reviews
The State Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator periodically conducts compliance reviews to evaluate agency affirmative action plans and equal employment opportunity operations and reports to the Governor and the director of the Department of Administrative Services as appropriate on overall progress. When the Coordinator finds that an agency program is not in conformity with these rules, the Coordinator may require improvement or corrective action to bring the agency’s affirmative action program into compliance with the rules of this Chapter.
Purpose and Methodology
The State Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator is responsible for evaluating state agencies’ affirmative action and equal employment opportunity programs. Consequently, the Equal Opportunity Division conducts compliance reviews. The compliance review is conducted through the use of structured interviews and relevant agency documents. This review is based on the commitments made in the approved Affirmative Action Plan. At the conclusion of the compliance review, an approved report distributed to the agency Director and EEO Officer. The report includes detailed findings and recommendations that will assist the agency in accomplishing compliance and workforce diversity within the State of Ohio.

The enabling statute for the Affirmative Action Plan are R.C. 124.04(O). The regulations that govern the internal complaint process are found at Ohio Adm. Code Chapter 123:1-49.
