Most of the previous directives have been re-issued with little or no substantive changes. The directives containing more substantive changes include the following:

  • Directive 08-03 – Changes include a change of the title from “Weather Emergency Procedures” to “Public Safety Emergency Procedures” because the directive now encompasses more than just weather-related emergencies.

  • Directive 08-04, Employee Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Reporting Policy
and Procedures – Now includes reference to Executive Order 2007-10S, which created protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in making certain
    employment-related decisions.

  • Directive 06-15, Fleet Management Program – Has been temporarily rescinded to accommodate the OAKS platform.

  • Directive 06-23, Unemployment Compensation – Was permanently rescinded because DAS no longer provides this service.

  • Directive 06-28, Workers’ Compensation Procedures — Was permanently rescinded because DAS no longer provides this service.

  • Directive 08-33, Unauthorized Weapon Policy -- Was modified to include the DAS Work Rule on Unauthorized Weapons as an attachment.

Matters of interest to a specialized audience and matters that do not rise to the level of statewide policy matters will be addressed in DAS payroll letters, clarification letters, procedure memoranda, or operations manuals, and other DAS booklets, brochures and publications.
