DAS Directives Year 2003-04

Most of the previous directives have been re-issued with little or no substantive changes. There are three new Directives:, Directive 04-30, regarding the required use of domestic steel; Directive 04-31, regarding disposal of surplus property that may contain sensitive information; and, Directive 04-32 requiring utilization of state owned space prior to entering into leases for commercial space. In addition, several directives, 04-17 Copier Management, 04-18 Publication and Printing Costs, 04-19 Public Printing, 04-21 Purchasing Policies and Procedures and 04-27, State Property Inventory, 04-06 Compensatory Time and 04-16 State Records Management Program have been revised. Two Directives, 04-31 disposal of property with sensitive information and 04-10 Independent Contractors are being changed and will be effective later this summer.

Matters of interest to a specialized audience and matters that do not rise to the level of statewide policy matters will be addressed in DAS payroll letters, clarification letters, procedure memoranda, or operations manuals, and other DAS booklets, brochures and publications.

If you have any questions regarding these directives, please direct your questions to the Office of Chief Legal Counsel at (614) 644-1773.
