Framework for Digital Ohio
Ohio embraces five guiding principles that establish
the framework for tactical planning, priorities,
architecture and system design to ensure focus
and sound fiscal performance.
Customer-Centered Service
Providing access anywhere, any place and anytime
for everyone to empower citizens to maximize the
use of all government services and improve them.
Of special significance, the state is employing
innovative customer-centered methods to represent
the needs of all constituents and provide effective
outreach regarding all state services.
Event-Driven
Processes
Providing integrated access to all state functions
based on type of service rather than the silos,
or departments, of traditional government. New
communities of interest, comprised of multiple
state agencies, are being formed to provide a
common window, or port of entry, to common state
services and functions.
Improved
Employee Productivity
Promoting shared departmental data and providing
a broad spectrum of online services to state employees
through alignment of business processes. State
employees will have access to new tools that will
enable them to perform their jobs more efficiently.
Additionally, employees will be provided with
online access to the full spectrum of career,
financial management, training and personnel record
data that will allow them to make better-informed
choices about their public service careers.
Multiple
Channels and Access Methods
Providing improved access to a full spectrum of
service-delivery methods, including traditional
service centers, telephone access, wireless access
(cellular and digital phones, personal digital
assistants and pagers) and Internet delivery.
Citizens will have a choice as to how they will
access state services, a fundamental component
of the Digital Ohio e-Government strategy.
Confidentiality
and Security
Applying modern security processes and architecture
to protect personal data and financial transactions.
Secure and private one-on-one communications will
be available with any state agency. This guiding
principle provides the foundation for the authentication
of all users and the confidentiality of all transactions.
